25th Annual Pioneer Luncheon

Place: Crowne Plaza San Marcos Resort
Cost: Suggested $25 donation per person

The Chandler Historical Society is pleased to host our 25th Annual Pioneer Luncheon at the Crowne Plaza San Marcos Resort on Saturday, April 25, 2008. As we are sure to have our largest attendance to date, we do require an RSVP in order to reserve your place. RSVP to the Chandler Museum by calling (480) 782-2717.

When the idea for a Pioneer Luncheon was first presented in 1984, the original vision was to honor our founding pioneer families who have created this wonderful city we all enjoy. This original vision remains true today as we enjoy the luncheon, the company, the conversation, and the presentation of Chandler’s history.

5 C’s Sponsorship - $500
This sponsorship level includes your name and/or logo on the table, 10 seats (names must be submitted to the Chandler Museum in advance of the event), recognition in the program, recognition in an issue of the Chandler Historical Society’s newsletter, and a recognition gift.

Pioneer Sponsorship - $1000
The Pioneer Sponsorship includes all the benefits of the 5 C’s sponsorship, plus a thank you gift for all the guests of the sponsor.

San Marcos Sponsorship - $1500
The San Marcos Sponsorship includes the benefits of the Pioneer Sponsorship, but your table will be located at a prime location at the luncheon. You may also display company/corporate literature on the membership table that will be set up at the luncheon.

A.J. Chandler Sponsorship - $3000
The A.J. Chandler Sponsorship includes all the benefits of the San Marcos Sponsorship, plus an additional table for 10 guests at a prime location. We will display a banner with your company’s logo and/or name behind the speaker’s podium. You will receive recognition in all publicity for the event, including press releases and two editions of our monthly newsletter.

The Pioneer Luncheon also includes a raffle and silent auction. If you would like to donate items for either the raffle or the silent auction, contact the museum.

Pioneer Luncheon Honors & Awards
A number of awards are presented at the Pioneer Luncheon.
These awards include,
• Dr. A.J. Chandler Award
• Citizens of History and the much anticipated,
• Pioneer of the Year (male and female).

The Pioneer Luncheon Committee is comprised of Chandler Historical Society Board Directors and museum staff. This committee decides who is to receive most of the awards.

Pioneer of the Year

The Pioneer of the Year award is presented to one male and one female who has lived in Chandler for more than 50 years, and has made a significant contribution to the history of Chandler. Historic contributions can include: having made an impact on the city’s historic preservation, been involved with/ organized civic contributions to Chandler and/or brought recognition to the City of Chandler.

The Pioneer Luncheon committee considers each nomination and awards the recipient based on information provided in the nomination form

Citizens of History

This award is given to a family, couple or individual who has made a significant impact on the history of Chandler.
• They must have lived in Chandler for 50 or more years and have been involved in (past or present) a local civic organization.
• This award can be presented posthumously.
• Decided upon by the Pioneer Luncheon Committee
• Any number of these awards can be presented in any given year

Dr. A.J. Chandler Award

This award is given to an organization, business, couple or individual who has been actively involved with the Chandler Historical • Society and has also made a significant financial contribution.
• Decided upon by the Pioneer Luncheon Committee
• The Pioneer Luncheon Committee can decide not to present this award, or to present the Dr. A.J. Chandler Award to one or more
• recipients in any given year

Volunteer of the Year Award

The Chandler Museum’s Volunteer of the Year is given to an individual who has made significant contributions of time and
involvement in the function of the Chandler Museum and/or Chandler Historical Society.
• Decided upon by the Pioneer Luncheon Committee
• The Volunteer of the Year can be awarded to one or more individuals or a couple
